The app
Another Note Widget (on Google Play as “Another Note Widget: Sticky”) does one thing: it puts a short note on your home screen and keeps it there. A note can be typed, with emoji if you like, or drawn by hand. It can be a sticky note, plain or notebook paper, a blackboard or one of the other designs, dressed up with one of more than forty themes and a pin, in the colours and handwriting-style font you choose.
Notes are stored on the phone and the app works offline. There are no accounts and no sync.
It first appeared on Google Play in November 2013 and is still updated; the most recent update at the time of writing is from February 2026. It needs Android 6.0 or later. The listing shows more than a million installs and a 4.7 rating from 48,943 ratings. Those figures move, and the listing is the authoritative place for them. Google Play rates the app Everyone.
Who makes it
The app and this website are the work of HAPPY NEKO, an independent developer based in Beppu, Ōita Prefecture, Japan. HAPPY NEKO is a trading name for one person’s work, not a large company.
Google verifies the identity of every Play developer and publishes the verified name and address in the About the developer block of each listing. For this app that record is on the Play listing. This site gives the trading name, the town and a working support address rather than repeating a private individual’s home address. Nothing is hidden: the verified record is one click away.
How it is paid for
- Ads. The free version shows advertising, and the listing carries a Contains ads badge. The ad network uses device identifiers to choose ads; the developer states that note content is never accessed or shared. The data section on the home page goes through exactly what the ads collect.
- A one-time ad-free upgrade. $1.99 on Google Play, paid once, never renewed. It is the only thing in the app that costs money.
There is no subscription, no trial that turns into a payment, and no paid tier of this website. The only transaction there is happens on Google Play.
Why this website exists
A store listing has room for a feature list and four screenshots. It has no room for the things people actually get stuck on: that widgets are added from the home screen and not from the app, that some phones stop widgets from loading until auto-start is allowed, how to get back a note you removed by mistake, or what “data can’t be deleted” means for an app without accounts. These pages cover that.
What the site deliberately does not do:
- offer an APK or any other download: Google Play is the only way to install;
- take payments, collect sign-ups or run a login;
- publish testimonials, reviews, awards or rankings. The only figures used are the ones on this app’s Google Play listing;
- claim the app makes you more productive or organised. It holds a note; what you do with it is up to you;
- claim any connection with Google. Android, Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC.
