1. Who is responsible
This website is run by HAPPY NEKO, the independent developer of the Android app Another Note Widget, based in Beppu, Ōita, Japan (“the Developer”). The Developer decides how the limited data described below is handled and is responsible for it. You can reach the Developer at the address in section 13. The identity and address Google has verified are shown in the About the developer block on the Google Play listing.
2. Scope
This policy is about visiting these web pages and nothing else. The app is a separate product that runs on your phone and is covered by its own privacy policy. Keeping the two apart keeps both of them accurate.
3. Data this website handles
The site is a handful of static pages. It has no forms, accounts, comments, newsletter or checkout, so it never asks you for personal details, and nothing can be bought here.
3.1 Server logs
The hosting provider automatically logs each request: IP address, time, the page requested, the referring page and the browser’s user-agent string. These logs are what lets a web server run, stay available and be investigated when something breaks or is abused. They are not used to profile anyone and are not joined up with the measurement below.
3.2 Your consent answer
When you answer the cookie banner, your answer, just granted or denied, is kept in
your browser’s local storage so you are not asked on every page. It identifies nobody and is never sent
anywhere. Clear your browser storage and the banner comes back.
3.3 Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement, only if you accept
If you press Accept, the site loads Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement. They show how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether someone who came from an ad went on to open the Google Play listing. To do that Google may set cookies and process an online identifier, the pages you view, approximate location derived from your IP address, and technical details of your device and browser.
If you do not accept, the Google scripts are never requested. There is no reduced or “cookieless” mode running in the background; the code is simply not loaded. Every page and link works the same either way.
3.4 No third-party requests
Everything a page needs, fonts included, comes from this site’s own host. No font service, CDN, social widget or embedded player is contacted when you open a page, so your IP address is seen by the hosting provider and nobody else unless you accept measurement.
3.5 Campaign tags passed to Google Play
If the address you arrived at contains utm_source, utm_medium,
utm_campaign, utm_term or utm_content, those values are added to the
Google Play link as the install referrer, so an install can be credited to the ad campaign that led to it.
Only these five values are passed, they describe the campaign rather than you, and it happens in your browser
when you click. There is no redirect service in between.
3.6 Things this site does not do
- sell personal data, or hold any to sell;
- show ads on these pages or include ad networks, chat widgets, social buttons, session recording or heat maps;
- try to recognise individual visitors or connect a visit to a person;
- receive anything from Google Play about who installed the app or bought the upgrade.
4. Cookies and browser storage

None of these is needed for the site to work, which is why Decline is a real choice and not a delay.
5. Your consent choice
The site uses Google Consent Mode v2. At the start of every page load, ad_storage,
ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage are all set to
denied, and they change only if you accept.
You can change your answer whenever you like with , which is also in every page’s footer. The new answer applies straight away.
6. Legal bases
The Developer handles this data in line with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information and, for visitors they protect, the EU GDPR and UK GDPR. Under the GDPR:
- consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) covers measurement and the related storage on your device. It is asked for first, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it;
- legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) cover server logs: running a website securely and being able to fix it. The logs are technical and short-lived, and they are not used to profile anyone.
7. Who receives data
The hosting provider processes server logs on the Developer’s behalf. If you accept measurement, Google receives the data in section 3.3 as an independent controller under its own terms, and may process it in other countries, including the United States, using the transfer safeguards it publishes. The Developer is in Japan. If you decline, this website sends nothing to Google.
8. Retention
- Server logs: kept briefly by the hosting provider, then deleted or rotated as it normally does.
- Your consent answer: in your browser until you clear it. The Developer has no copy.
- Measurement data: kept by Google under its own retention settings.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live you can ask to see the personal data held about you, correct or delete it, object to or limit its use, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@anothernotewidget.site.
In fairness: this website keeps no account or profile, so there is nothing the Developer can look up under “you”. The practical controls are the banner and your browser’s storage settings. The app is a separate matter; see section 11.
You can also complain to a supervisory authority: in Japan, the Personal Information Protection Commission; in the EEA or Switzerland, your national data protection authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
10. Children
The site is for a general audience and is not aimed at children. It collects nothing knowingly from children and offers no way for anyone to submit personal details. Google Play rates the app itself Everyone.
11. The app’s own policy
What happens inside the app is covered by the Another Note privacy policy, which is also linked from the Google Play listing. This policy does not change or override it.
Because people often land here looking for it, here is what the Developer declares in the app’s data safety section on Google Play:
- notes are stored locally on the device;
- the app may collect and share approximate location (optional) and device or other IDs (optional) for advertising or marketing, and crash logs, diagnostics and other performance data for analytics;
- data is encrypted in transit;
- deletion of that data cannot be requested. There is no account for it to be attached to. You can reset your advertising ID in Android’s settings.
The declaration on the Play listing is the current, authoritative version; this summary is for convenience and may fall behind an app update.
12. Updates
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date. If a change affects how visitor data is handled, the consent banner will ask you again rather than assume your old answer still applies.
